With the prices of electricity rising and people starting to look at ways to reduce their reliance on the utility companies, not to mention their bills, many are turning to alternative energy sources. One way of doing this is with solar power and by installing solar panels in your home. Some people decide to build their own panels, and have discovered that they can say “DIY Solar Panels Electricity for free”.
You may think the idea of building your own solar panels is beyond you, but you may be glad to know you could build a solar panel in a day, with basic DIY skills, no specialist tools and materials you can easily find in the average hardware store. So in one day you could be creating electricity to power appliances in your home.
Naturally you can’t just jump into this project, time spent at the beginning, planning the project is time well spent and could save you money in the long run. First, you need to estimate how much electricity you require to run your home. If you plan only to supplement your power needs, that’s fine. Then just calculate the percentage you want to offset.
Those numbers will allow you to estimate how many and what size of solar panels you need. Once you have this number it’s a matter of simple arithmetic to match the area of your south-facing rooftop section to the number and size of modules that you need. In the beginning you will really just build one panel that might power a couple of appliances in your home. Once you have built one panel it is a relativity easy task to build and connect another panel into the system, and so increase the ability to create your own electricity.
I am sure you have noticed that the sun doesn’t shine all day every day. It’s dark at night, obviously and rain and heavy cloud cover will also reduce the amount of electricity your panels can create. So if you are planning in going completely ‘off grid’ will want a battery storage system. If you just want to supplement your electricity supply you could still draw power from your local utility company during these times. Please remember that most municipalities will require that you have your system inspected and approved even if you go entirely off grid. They need to ensure that it’s implemented in a way that’s safe for local lineman. During power outages they have to assume there’s no power running through the lines. Your system has to be installed in a way that guarantees that.
One place to learn all the in’s and out’s to build your own solar panels, is from the manuals you can find on the internet. Many will include full details and photographs of all the steps you need to take to build the panels, the best will include videos that you can watch in your own time. Another option you should look for is a complete list of tools and materials you need to lay your hands on.
Hopefully you now have an idea on how to start and where to go to build your own solar panels, so you can start to produce your own environmentally friendly electricity. This may be the start of your journey to entirely live of the grid.

Thinking about changing your house to a solar system? Good choice! A decision to go to a renewable energy source is the first step, and there is a large, but now you have to learn how to build solar power for your own personal use. Let me explain the broad strokes, and do not worry, it’s not really so difficult … provided you have the right information. Get Best Make Solar Panel and Make Wind Turbine Guide
Before you begin, decide your project to meet your individual goals in terms of solar energy. Do you want to run a few appliances and reduce your electric bill or you want to remove it completely through the creation of an autonomous solar power system at home? Different objectives require different levels of commitment and your costs will vary depending on what you hope to do. Find out your goals and then you can plan exactly what you need to do to achieve them.
How to Build Solar Power Step # 1
Material:
The first things you need are a parts list and the right materials. You can head over to your local DIY store to buy everything. All points which are to build a solar power system to readily available and inexpensive. Most likely you will already many of the tools that you will be at home, but when you can not them it’s a good bet you know about. Before the transfer of money, have sack around your garage, shed or basement, you can already some of the materials at hand.
The good news is, you can do everything you need for under $ 200 and since you are going to do the work itself will not buy expensive labor costs.
How to Build Solar Power Step # 2
The Build:
The solar cells are the small motors that come together to create the power. Link these together create a solar panel, and you have the most important component of your solar system. You can buy solar cells or at home. You can consider in large quantities for very little about the various online auction sites.
Tip: If you are sure not to buy cells that they tabbed, it will eliminate a lot of trouble.
If your cells connected to each other, they work together as a team to produce electricity. You will have to do some soldering, but it is not difficult to get the hang of. Make sure that all cells have the same size as your solar system are limited by the smallest cell in the group.
Next you have in common a field that included at your solar panel. Make sure if you are the plates not jammed against the sides of the box office. The plates can grow and shrink, depending on the weather so that you avoid cracks with this small but necessary step. Before your plates, line the base of the box with a non-conductive material. Something like pegboard should now work all right. When attaching your plates, glue each cell in the middle with silicone to seal it once more to prevent this cracking, the cells should extend or contract.
Now you have put plexiglass on the outside the box you built. This material is occurring in the elements and allows the sun’s energy to penetrate into your panel.
Note: Pre-drill holes in the plexiglass before screwing it on the field. It will probably be nothing more than crack.
How to Build Solar Power Step # 3
Installation:
Since you have completed building, you need to connect the solar panels to charge controller in combination, and then to a battery bank. The battery bank is to convert a converter connected to the D / C electricity generated by your panel A / C, which is used by most household appliances.
Note: Before installing, the test everything works as it should.
These are the basic steps, like building solar power for your home, of course, the process is more complex in terms of the individual steps, but with some good step-by-step instructions, you’ll be energy independent in no time. Get Best Make Solar Panel and Make Wind Turbine Guide
10 Steps to an Easy Solar Power System Installation

Below you will find the basics in a step by step process to a pain free and cost effective Solar System Installation. From initial research to getting your first solar rebate check from your electric company the path is laid out here.
1. Determine your historical energy use from your past electric bills. Pay attention to the difference between Summer and Winter power usage.
2. Determine your roof area available for Photovoltaic Panels. These Solar Panels mounted on your roof or ground contain the Photovoltaic (PV) cells which convert sunlight into DC power. South facing surface areas are best but seasonal variations in sun exposure allow for a variety of Solar Panel placements to be used. Also, new technology allows for sun “tracking” or programmed mechanical moving of the solar panels to maximize sun exposure during the day and across all seasons of the year.
3. Contact a licensed and aproved Solar Installation Contractor(s) in your area to perform an on-site consultation. Your contractors will know all the current solar technologies available and how to take advantage of all possible Federal, State, and possibly local solar tax rebates, grants, etc.
4. The Solar Installation Contractor will determine best location for your Photovoltaic Panels and best Inverters to use for the size of the Solar System. Location of solar panels may vary as well as type of panels. Inverters (which convert the solar panel current from DC to usable AC current) need to be chosen based on best size and type for the system as does the Production Meter (explained below). The power from the Solar Panels are sent to an Inverter (or power converter) which converts the DC electricity from the solar modules to AC power, which is the same type of power being sent from your utility company to your home or business. 5. Discuss all costs for various solar electric system options and installation timing with your Solar Installation Contractor to finalize all variables. Once all is decided upon it is the time to sign the contract with your Solar Installation Contractor.
6. Your Solar Installation Contractor will submit applications to your electric utility and begin paperwork with all possible Federal, State, and possibly local tax rebates, grants, etc., to save you the maximum money possible.
7. You will then sign a contract with your electric utility. This is called a Net Metering Agreement and states that the power utility will credit your account for the excess power you produce which flows to the power grid. Also an important consideration is the use of a Meter Monitor. This will allow you to be given credit for power you generate at different rates. These rates can be Peak and Off Peak Rates. These rates are dependent on time of day you produce power, day of the week, and month of the year. Peak Rates are often summer afternoon week days. If you send power to the grid during peak times, you will get credit at the higher, peak rate. When you gain credit and then draw on your credit at Off Peak periods your account will be debited at Off Peak rates. If all of the electricity being generated by your solar energy system is immediately being used, your meter will not “spin backwards”.
8. Your Solar Installation Contractor will generate design drawings and pull all permits needed and, when you are ready, will install your system. Once completely installed your County or City will inspect the system to insure compliance of your system and insure you are elligible for the Solar Tax Rebates and / or benefits you have applied for.
9. You Utility Company will be Sending you your Solar Rebate Check 6 to 8 Weeks after Inspection of System.
10. Enjoy decades of environmentally friendly and maintenance-free electricity solar power while adding value to your home! Give yourself a good pat on the back for saving money AND the planet.
What to Know Before Purchasing Home Solar Electricity

Getting home solar electricity is more affordable today than it was 10 years ago. In fact, the federal government and many state governments are currently offering tax rebates to persons that choose to convert to home solar electricity. If installing a photovoltaic system to supply your home solar electricity is too far out of your financial abilities, there are also programs available to purchase your utilities from an accredited green energy supplier. Green energy suppliers offer only utilities fueled by renewable resources, such as solar electricity, hydroelectricity and wind generated electricity. However, if you made the decision to switch to solar electricity for your home it is important to determine your electricity needs before you start shopping.
The first thing you have to determine is how much power you will need from your home solar electricity system. Different arrays and solar panel set-ups offer different wattage outputs. Take the time to determine your average daily electricity usage. You want to achieve a number that includes the entire year and affords for the different amount of energy used during winter and summer months (more lights, heaters, air conditioners).
When shopping for the right photovoltaic system to supply your home solar electricity definitely research the quality of the product. A product offering 13% efficiency and a lifetime warranty will be far more valuable than the panel offering 15% efficiency and a one-year warranty. Ask neighbors, friends and even strangers currently using home solar electricity, to learn more about the differences in systems. Sufficient time should also be spent interviewing installers and researching manufacturers as well.
A final decision needs to be made as to what kind of system you would like to use to supply your home solar electricity. There are generally three types of solar panel systems used to supply home solar electricity. The first type is a grid-tied system in which your solar panels are tied into your current power meter. You are using both electricity supplied by your panels and your supply is then backed by electricity from your electric company. The second available solar panel system for supplying home solar electricity is a grid-tie with battery backup. With this system you are collecting electricity from you panels, filling your batteries for emergencies and then the excess is sent back to the electric company through your meter. The final system is a stand-alone system. Very similar to the grid-tied system with battery backup except that you are completely disconnected or maybe never connected to a major utility provider for your area.
Once you educate yourself on providing your home solar electricity, you are probably ready to start shopping. Remember that converting to home solar electricity is an investment and you will reap the rewards over time. And don’t forget the pride you will have with reducing your carbon footprint by converting to home solar electricity.

The unsustainable power costs have driven the consumers towards finding cheap alternatives resources of energy to operate their devices and home appliances. Solar power is a very practical source of re-usable energy to generate electricity in a cost effective and eco-friendly manner. Building solar panels have now become easier than ever before. A number of solar panel suppliers are available to help you. The solar panel is based on the photovoltaic process under which an electrical charge is caused by the light and flows in the material.
You can achieve photovoltaic reaction with a half-house approach and build a solar panel yourself. Buy the constituent parts like pre-manufactured solar cells or solar cells from solar panel suppliers. Solar cell is used for the conversion of actual sunlight and photovoltaic cell is used for the conversion of light from many sources. You can assemble the component and electronic parts to construct the solar panel and produce your own electricity. Alternatively, you can get custom, OEM solar module design and manufacturing services from solar panel suppliers at affordable rates.
You can explore building your own solar panel so that you can say it with pride to your friends and colleagues. Instead of looking for silicon based solution you can rely on semiconducting/ superconducting photovoltaic properties of the cuprous oxide. A red oxidized powder will be formed by the finished cell. You can waste the black powder oxide from in the oxidation process, as it is of no use. The copper oxide has polariton level and produces electricity. Photons, going with conductive material, result in polaritons and produces electricity from the energy of the mixture.
You have to first produce copper oxide by heating copper for a longer time and flake out unnecessary black colored copper, leaving the read portions of copper. After cooling, the solar cell will consist of salty water oxidized panel and non-oxidized copper panel of same size.
Online solar panel suppliers offer you all types of solar panel system, inverters and components like off grid, photovoltaic grid-tie etc. Residential solar panels of top brands like GE, BP, Shell, Sharp are available at discounted prices. When thinking of solar power in the home, many people think of expensive solar panels and quickly shrug off the idea. The truth is that there are many ways to harvest the power of the sun for little or no money, reducing environmental impact and saving significantly on energy usage and costs. While solar panels and off-grid living should be an eventual goal for all people, the use of these simple solar energy tips is an excellent way to reduce costs in both the short and long term.
One thing that many homeowners do not consider is opening the curtains during the day. On sides of the house that are facing the sun, this produces enough light to adequately illuminate most rooms, eliminating the need to use electricity to light them. When windows are properly insulated, opening the blinds in winter months also allows heat to come in from the sunlight without letting in cold drafts. The simple act of opening the blinds can provide significant savings on heat and light usage, reducing energy bills as well as your carbon footprint. An excellent idea for homeowners is to install skylights onto the roof of the home, which do not affect privacy but can allow in enough light during daytime hours to eliminate the need for electric lights in all rooms where a skylight is installed.
For people who use outdoor pools or Jacuzzis, converting the systems used to heat the water from electricity to solar panels can also result in significant savings. All outdoor lights can be inexpensively replaced with lights that absorb sunlight during the day and glow at night, giving off equivalent light to an electric light but with no energy cost whatsoever. These simple alternatives can greatly decrease your dependence on electricity.
The last method of utilizing solar power at home is to purchase and use a solar hot water heater. While the costs of some systems are rather pricey, there are inexpensive systems as well as ways to upgrade your current water heater to utilize solar power rather that fuel or electricity. When considering that heating water accounts for a significant portion of the electricity used in any home, the savings to be gained from installing a solar water heater are immediately apparent. From washing dishes and laundry to bathing and showering, we utilize hot water in large amounts. Hot water heaters work almost constantly in order to maintain a specific amount of hot water, meaning that we are heating the water even when we are not using it. By heating the water using solar power, we stop the waste of fossil fuel and electricity that accompanies this process.
Altogether, there are a number of ways to utilize solar energy at little to no cost. These methods are quite easy to employ and have significant impact on both the environment and finances. With the state of both the environment and the global economy, there has never been a better time to implement such methods to reduce our dependence on the fossil fuels that are in many ways at the center of our economic turbulence.

The best thing about solar power is that it has an unlimited potential. Contrary to the popular belief learning how to create solar power isn’t technical, the truth is, you can solar power your complete home pretty easily for a very small investment. You just need to know how to make your own renewable energy source and today I am going to tell you exactly how to go about creating solar power.
If you want to learn how to create solar power, you’ll first have to understand some basics on how exactly does a solar panel works. This way, the whole process will be pretty simple to handle.
Solar modules are the main components exposed directly to sunlight. Their main function is to change the sun’s energy into electrical energy that can be utilized by electrical equipments. To have them correctly installed, solar modules are to be mounted on a steel frame and placed on the roof top.
Power generated by the solar modules is converted from Direct Current (DC) to Alternating Current (AC) through an inverter. Generally, Alternating Current (AC) is the utilizable electrical power that we need to power the home appliances.
Next, the electrical power transfers from the inverter to the electrical service panel. The electrical service panel is used for transmitting the electrical power to different parts of your house or office for use.
The unutilized electrical power generated by the solar panels will then be brought into the grid via the utility electric meter. Thus, the meter will be made to spin backwards and this establishes a credit with the utility company in offsetting any future usage. This method is known as Net Metering and is authorized by the State Level Electricity Policy.
Learning how to create solar power isn’t really complex. You don’t need many skills beyond being able to handle wiring & basic tools with care and safety measures.
The components needed for making solar panels include:-
1. Solar Cells
2. Copper Wire
